Report Number: WADC TR 52-204 Volume 2
Author(s): Rosenblith, Walter A., Stevens, Kenneth N.
Corporate Author(s): Bolt, Beranek, and Newman
Laboratory: Aero Medical Laboratory
Date of Publication: 1953-06
Pages: 272
Contract: AF 33(038)-20572
DoD Project: None Given
Identifier: AD0018260
Abstract:
Volume II, which is intended as a guide in solving the problem of noise control, discusses the ways in which acoustic noise can be undesireable. The topics treated in particular are: basic bio-and psycho acoustic data; effects of noise on human behavior; and human response criteria for noise control. Several subjective responses were analyzed and correlated with properties of the physical stimuli. Definitions of bio-acoustic terminology are given with a description of the anatomy of the ear and the properties of aural protective devices.
