Abstract:
This report includes the results of investigations on the chemistry of thermally stable inorganic and semi-inorganic polymers. Two polymers, polydioxaborole and a polybenzodiazaboroline, have good thermal stability, however, high molecular weights are difficult to attain and they are water sensitive. In addition both systems lead to embrittlement of glass at high temperatures and adhere poorly to metal surfaces at high temperatures. New approaches to boronnitrogen polymers were investigated.
