Abstract:
The usage of an IBM 7094 digital computer program is described here. The program is used in conjunction with the basic Six-Degree-of-Freedom computer program described in Part II, Volume 1 of this report. This structural loads program (SLP) will determine the vehicle structural loads and response due to aerodynamic loads, loads due to control surface deflections, and environmental disturbances (i.e., wind profiles and continuous discrete turbulence profiles). The program permits the inclusion of up to 17 structural degrees of freedom and 40 fuel slosh modes. The structural degrees of freedom are arbitrary and the user may incorporate any number of modes such as body bending, wing bending, wing torsion, etc., so as to total 17. The fuel slosh modes incorporate two longitudinal and two lateral modes on each tank, and the program allows one to include up to ten tanks.
