Abstract:
The purpose of this paper was to detail a method by which one may estimate a population correlation from a double-entry frequency table of scores jointly on category i of variable X and category j of variable Y. This estimate was designed to provide an estimate of correlation as a function of sample size and number of categories in which data are expressed. This paper provides 95 per cent confidence limits for the estimating.
